Contents:
There is a fruitful existential encounter between the dialogical philosophy of Martin Buber and the philosophy and practices of Zen Buddhism. This is what I refer to as “Dialogical-Ecology.” The enactment of Buber’s I-Thou dialogue between people and with nature is one and the same as the practice of mindfulness meditation in Zen Buddhism. In other words, the teachings of Zen, when practiced as social deeds, can only be enacted within the framework of a dialogical society.
